The artists behind your worlds
Great maps start
with great artists.
HexAtlas brings these artists’ work together in a mapmaking tool. The original artwork belongs to its respective creators. Explore their collections, support their work, and carry their credits with you when you share.
Old-School
Queer Wizard · Ripley Matthews
The hand-drawn terrain and landmarks come from Handy Hex Icons. The creator permits personal and commercial projects and requests credit to Queer Wizard or Ripley Matthews in publications. HexAtlas adapts the artwork’s sizing and presentation for the hex grid.
Suggested publication credit: “Handy Hex Icons by Queer Wizard (Ripley Matthews).”
Low Poly
Kay Lousberg · KayKit
Terrain, buildings, and props come from the KayKit Medieval Hexagon Pack, released under CC0. Attribution is optional; we’re happy to acknowledge the artist. HexAtlas arranges and scales the supplied renders for its map styles.
Fantasy
David Baumgart
Hand-painted terrain and locations come from three of David Baumgart’s collections: the free Hex and Tile Terrain Sample Set; the purchased Hex Basic Terrain Set (v1.3.0), which supplies the A–D variations of each core biome and the tree, rock, grass, pond, and mountain decor sprites; and the purchased Hex Medieval-Fantasy Locations (v1.3.4), which supplies the villages, castles, temples, ruins, farms, mines, caves, roads, and building props used for Fantasy landmarks and their variants. Their terms permit free and commercial games and similar media projects, including modifications. Standalone redistribution, repackaging as another asset pack, and use in image-generation training datasets are prohibited. HexAtlas scales and arranges these tiles for its grid.

Classic & interface symbols
Pictogrammers · Material Design Icons
Classic’s terrain symbols use Material Design Icons, licensed under Apache 2.0. HexAtlas applies display colors and rasterizes copies for style previews.

A note about sharing and commercial use
A HexAtlas subscription does not transfer ownership of third-party artwork or grant a standalone asset resale license. Preserve the applicable credits when publishing a map. Imported artwork remains subject to its own terms.
The published project-use terms for Fantasy and Old-School do not explicitly settle every map-editor redistribution or downstream-user scenario. Do not treat this credits page as blanket permission to resell assets or commercially sublicense artwork; obtain any additional permissions needed for your use.
